So Overrated. posted at 10:26 PM Goodbyes are so overrated, so here is a blog post plus a beautiful beautiful photo montage (LOL), to remind myself that we do not have to say goodbye to the efforts my wonderful friends and I have been a part of for the past 4-5 months. The Guilty Ones, finally took place last Friday and Saturday, and honestly I felt that we did great, especially during the last show. Could not have done it should any single person who was involved went missing. I'm really going to miss being on set with the brilliant people of TGO. Life returns to normal now, in fact, it went back to normal, the very moment I found myself rendering clips and falling into micro-naps while editing my Film History director video/podcast. A little glad that my friends found it cute, because guurrrllll, I spent more time on after effects Exciting week ahead. Sheesha tomorrow, Qeera's birthday party on Thursday and FMSU meeting on Friday. We so excited xoxo Labels: The Guilty Ones The Guiltiest. posted at 1:56 AM Photo Credit: Wanfong Woo Today and tomorrow will sum up the four months of effort by everyone involved in the production of The Guilty Ones. I recall upon a rehearsal we had, just before the new school term started. We were all lying on the floor at Studio 27's "MagicWerkz", low key lighting hitting peculiar angles on our faces. Joshua had wanted to hear what we wanted to feel during our curtain call. Being a fan of fancy words that made the most sense, Iffah uttered words that left an impact on my heart forever. "I'm looking forward most to that cathartic feeling". Coming for The Guilty Ones rehearsals was honestly, the highlight of the day for me, because I get to spend time with some of the most wonderful people(and I'm really not patronising when I say this). I have gotten my ears and mouth into sweet sweet conversations about drama that does not concern me, updates about the fashion world that I barely know, got closer to more seniors, master "straightery" and have someone whose love for Beyonce I can relate to my love for Gaga. My limbs have experienced dancing of a different type and yes of course, church sessions. The kind of things, I don't really get to experience amidst the technicalities of the course I'm enrolled in. I love every moment we get to spend, trying to be somebody else on stage, and I pray to God, that the audience feels the same. Here's to the main cast, the supporting cast, the dancers, the choreographers, the stage managers, the art direction and set design team, the costume and makeup people, the lighting, the marketing department, the producers and not forgetting, our director. As Danny would say it, The Guilty Ones would be hopefully, "Brilliant". I have not been able to have proper phone calls for rather some time, thanks to my old Nokia going all infidel on me. I could have been at West Coast Park right now, but I have a wonderful mom, who does not like wasting her time around old people who would play Bingo and expect their grandchildren to somehow play at the playgrounds and not get bored. Last week felt long and I really need to do something about being "punctual" for German classes. Hawa (who is wonderfully talented in singing by the way), got called up by some lecturer because she was late once for German and they warned her already. I, on the other hand, was late twice. :(. I really need to show more enthusiasm for that one module that I am actually excited about. And with all the hype the marketing Stage 52 is doing for The Guilty Ones, how can I not contribute this blog post to it. Tickets @$10 each. Be there, or be square. and if you need more convincing .... ........ ................ BEHIND THE SCENES OF THE GUILTY ONES Labels: The Guilty Ones A Place We Could Go posted at 9:23 PM It is one of those uninspired evenings where I just want to lie down and be completely free of worries and just scroll my Tumblr dashboard endlessly. Today's TGO Bondage Session was tiring but fun, despite playing games that have been played over and over again at Stage 52 sessions. We had the "This Is A Bing/Bong" game and also played an unusual and really intense rendition of Whacko before we played the Conflict Exercise. For the Conflict Exercise, we witnessed the most odd of a combination battle it out in a conflict and I decided to be an annoying demon child who chooses to pronounce bitch as bisch. LOL. We then whipped our moves for a sweaty hilarious session of dancing. Just really happy and glad that it will be a fun cast and crew we will all be working with for The Guilty Ones. I am really looking forward to proper trainings. OH MY GOD. ALL THE DANCING AND ACTING :') IT'S BEEN SO LONG. The happy kids of The Guilty Ones. Or at least my attempt to show the happy kids. There are of course more people but due to my inadequate art skills, I have failed to draw an accurate picture. :'( And to sign off, I hope Fizah's stomach would get better. It totally sucks that she cannot give the rest of the alphabet when I give her A to start our streak of dirty/stupid/ridiculous jokes Labels: The Guilty Ones |
